OUR TRAILS

Shin Pond Trail Riders is is dedicated to maintaining and expanding our trail system (currently sixty-seven miles) in Mount Chase, T6R6, T7R5, and Webbertown TWP.

In the fall of 2022, Shin Pond Trail Riders was chosen to receive $10,000 through the Polaris T.R.A.I.L.S. Grants to support the development, improvement and expansion of trails, and to help educate riders on safe and responsible riding practices.

When you ride our trails, be sure to visit Roberts Mountain, a scenic lookout located five miles from Shin Pond. In 2022, we had a contractor do some ditching, add new culverts and grade along the Snowshoe and Old Lane Brook Road up onto Robert’s Mountain.

Riding further North beyond Robert’s Mountain and then East of Shin Pond, we added a new trail that follows nearly the same route as the snowmobile trails of ITS 85 North and then ITS86 East through St. Croix and then intersects with the Knowles Corner ATV club’s trail which will continue East of Littleton/Monticello. The new trail also includes a designated ATV connector route into St. Croix Lake.

This is a significant enhancement for riders while connecting Northern Penobscot County and Aroostook County by way of a wilderness route vs having to navigate sometimes difficult towns.

Some of our trails are on Irving Land, which requires membership in an ATV Maine associated club.
